Dr. Nader Afgan

Education and Training

Dr. Nader earned his Bachelor of Arts with Honors in German Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. During dental school, he completed one-year clerkships in both oral surgery and pediatric dentistry, gaining advanced training in each discipline.

Experience and Practice Leadership

After graduating in 2013, Dr. Nader spent three years in private practice before purchasing Glen Burnie Dental Group in April 2016. Since then, he has grown the practice by building a strong team and navigating the business through its ups and downs with steady, positive momentum.

He formerly served as a Dean's Faculty member at the University of Maryland, where he worked as a clinical instructor for pre-doctoral dental students. Today, he continues to pursue continuing education to stay current with advances in the field. Dr. Nader is fluent in German and Farsi and conversational in Spanish.

Patient Care Philosophy

For Dr. Nader, the most rewarding part of dentistry is the personal connection, meeting people from all walks of life and helping patients overcome their fears. He chose the dental field because it combines hands-on clinical work with the challenge of building and running a business. That dual passion shows in his patient care and his leadership of the practice.

Outside the Office

When he's not at the practice, Dr. Nader stays active, focusing on his health and riding his motorcycle. He's a hands-on hobbyist who enjoys working on classic cars and tackling DIY projects. Though he'll admit that sometimes means breaking something he thought he could fix, then learning the repair for real and moving on to something that wasn't broken in the first place.
